List Building…Are You Doing No. 1 To Grow…

In the Online Marketing World list building should be one of your top priorities. A list, after all, will ensure a responsive pool of clients and customers for the online marketer, one which you can utilize for every active campaign that you pursue.

List Building can be as easy as getting your customers email address to more involved settings such as…selling to them or giving away information or products that they need by filling in some long form.

In essence…List Building is simply and exchange of information…(I will give you this in exchange for your email address.)

One question that comes up when discussing the logistics behind creating a list is:

When should an online marketer try to capture his customers contact information?

Should the opt in form be put only on the sales page itself?

Would this distract the readers?

Or should it be put on the Thank you page?

While there are many opinions on this subject lets focus on some of the techniques to the List Building Strategies.

  • People love Free stuff, and most will seek out even Free Advice. So one way to drive traffic to your desired Capture Page is by giving away Free Stuff….such as E-Books, Reports, Newsletters. You get the point.
  •

  • Another way is through Article Marketing…this is a great way to get your name or brand out for many to see. Once you write a great piece of inspiration, publish it to a numerous amount of Article Marketing Site, many will post your article for Free.
  •

  • Another way is through a Sales Letter…lets say you find a great product that you want to promote. Learning to write a Sales Letter or Sales Copy can push your sales through the roof. The letter itself can be a form of a squeeze page to capture your readers information at the bottom, thus building your list.
  •

Whichever way you choose….As you grow in your skills in Online Marketing…learning to capture your customers information for future reference is one of the smartest business moves that you can make.

A Word Of Caution Is….I feel that I do need to let you know this….that building a list is something that does take time…

It is not something that will happen over-night… As with anything in Online Marketing…we must remember that we are here for the long-haul….not the 50 yard sprint.

So stay Consistent…Constant…and Focused and you will…without a doubt…reach your goals.

Make it a Great One

How To Write Your First Article…

Writing your first Article can seem a bit intimidating. But as you follow a few simple

guidelines…overcoming this fear is a simple process.

First let’s start with the topic that you would like to write about…This is called

Brainstorming…think about…what’s your site about…what is something that

you would like to say…how can you help others that are interested in this

niche marketplace???

These would be just a couple of questions to ask yourself

to get your creative juices flowing…

Next…begin to use your keyword research to study and find out what people

are asking for. Go to forums and hang around long enough to find out what

people are needing.

Write down a list of about 10 or so topics that all pertain to your niche market.

An example of this would be…the Real Estate Market such as mobile homes,

tax breaks, government intensives, manufactured homes, flipping homes,

foreclosures, first time home buyers…the list can go on and on….

Now write down 10 or so questions or problems for each of the topics…

If you are having a hard time thinking of any…again go back to the forums

in the niche that you are in…use the search tool to find what others are

talking about and what they are needing to learn. Or you can go over to

some Article Directory sites and see what others are writing about…this

is a great way to get inspiration and ideas.

Now with your ideas and topics in place…it is time to begin….

The best way to write an article is to break it into three sections:

  • TITLE
  • CONTENT
  • RESOURCE BOX

TITLE:

Your Title is what makes or breaks your articles…

You already have a keyword list, so use one of the keywords to start your

title and the title of your article is practically written for you.

Starting your article with one of your keywords will appeal to us humans as

well as our favorite friend the Search Engines.

Remember…the true goal of every article is to convince the reader that you

can provide them with a solution to a specific problem.

If your title is keyword rich and tells of solving a problem
that is a winner.

CONTENT:

In the content you must follow through on the promise made in the title.

Use small chunks of text with visible breaks….so the article looks easy on the eyes.

Your article does not have to be long…300 words is enough.

Be aware of something called Keyword Density…this is how many times

you use your keywords.

You want to aim for around 2% — 3% …an example would be to use a keyword

between 2 and 3 times every 100 words. No more… or you’ll be accused of

keyword spamming (writing an article that appeals to Search Engines more than

humans)

Most importantly….Within Your Content — Be Sure To Answer The

Problem You Promised In The Title.

RESOURCE BOX:

The final part of every article — is the section that allows you to link back to

your site.

This is the whole point of the article in the first place — to get a reader to click

to you. Needless to say — it pays to get this right.

So many people fall at this hurdle — and simply list their web address. Use the

Resource box forcefully.

Give a direct call to action.

Tell the reader what to do NOW.

If they don’t click now they never will — so make sure you tell

your reader to take action on the techniques discussed in your

article immediately — by clicking for more information to your

site NOW.

Link Cloaking…

Link Cloaking is a term used to conceal the true identity of your links. You will hear the term “Link Cloaking” more around the Affiliate Marketing Scene because most affiliates don’t want others to know that they are promoting other peoples products.

There are many sites and programs that you can use or even purchase….to cloak or conceal your true links.

But I have found within my WordPress Blog a cool little plugin that does the same thing…and best of all it’s free and on my own site.

First off let’s look at why we would want to us such a program to cover up our links? Well I have found that there are basically two reasons to use such a program…

1. If you are in the Affiliate Marketing Arena…you might not want people to know that you are an Affiliate. Or that you are promoting other peoples products.

So if that is the case you would want to check our either a link cloaking website…that you just fill in your affiliate link by copying and pasting your affiliate link into the space provided and it will spit out a link that will look a whole lot shorter and easier to read.

Now some software even allow you to name the link yourself…This is how it is with my little plugin from WordPress.

But again lets look at another reason that you might want to conceal your true URL…

2. I have found it very helpful with my blog to create a Cloaked Link to my blog post for the sole purpose of shortening the link to be able to post to Twitter or to place on Facebook.

This to me is one of the best reasons to use this little WordPress Plugin Called “Pretty Link”

It will install right on your Dashboard so that you can use it at any time…with any URL…It is Fantastic.

The “Pretty Link Plugin” can be accessed by going to your pluging page and click on add new…then type in Pretty Link in the search box…it will be pulled right up…click on the install link…and it takes it from there…You will be able to use it right away and you will not believe how easy it is…

Check it out…You will be glad you did…

To Your Success,

Internet Marketing 101…The Advantages Outweigh The Obstacles

Internet Marketing is on the top of the current trend for ways to make some extra needed cash. With the Economy and the Cost of Living on the top of everyone’s mind…and the Unemployment Rate Soaring….most of us are looking for other ways to make some much needed extra money.

So we see many turning to Internet Marketing and the Home-Based Business Industry seeking ways to end the pain of lack that they are witnessing.

So what do you need to know if you are just beginning your search for another avenue to make ends meet at the end of the month.

And what should you be looking for to get off on the right foot.

First I would like to say that there are many great sites out there…that you can gain a wealth of information from…but here in this article I would like to give you a quick checklist of some of the benefits for starting your own internet marketing business while working from home.

Let’s begin….By looking at the benefits of starting your own internet marketing business because they are simply staggering…

After you read this you will be asking yourself..”Why didn’t I start this sooner.”

  1. You are your own BOSS! Yes, this is the most fantastic benefit of having your own internet marketing business. You call the shots! No pressures from a demanding boss or other employees. You escape the rat race, no sitting in the car in traffic on long hot days…no long commutes and time away from your family…. You set your own hours, targets and goals. You work in your own home, around your own hours.
  2. The money is YOURS! If you work hard, the benefits are all yours – what a great feeling that is… What you earn is not fixed or decided by someone else who thinks they know what you are ‘worth’. You determine what you are worth. As your value goes up so does your income. You have total control…
  3. Better work-life balance. Do you know how enslaving it is to be stuck with your 9-5 job…never mind the fact that you are probably not being paid what you are really worth…Plus are you making it to the end of the month??? With internet marketing, you achieve a better work-life balance…since you can work from home and set your own goals. You are solely responsible for how much you want to earn with your online business. You truly do earn what you are worth.
  4. One of the biggest draws to the Internet Marketing World is the fact that you can begin your business while still working your full-time JOB. This is a business that works around the hours that you can give it. You can still work at your job to get the paycheck to pay your bills every month but at the same time begin to work on your Internet Marketing Empire. “No-Pressure” you set the targets and the goals that you want to shot for.
  5. Low-Start-Up-Cost…Starting any business is a major expense in most cases. With an Internet Marketing Business…the start up cost is very minimal. Most of us will sacrifice something for the benefits of a brighter future. There are some small monthly cost, but in comparison to starting a off-line business…it can not compare.

As you go over the pros vs. the cons to starting a Home-Based Internet Marketing Business. The facts speak for themselves.

Yes…there will be new things that you might need to learn…but invest the time in yourself for you and your family.

You will be glad you did…

Choosing the Right Domain Name…6 Key Elements

Choosing Your domain name is the same as choosing your business name.

It represents both you and your business, what you will stand for and what

you will be promoting…so with that said it is extremely important that you

choose your domain name carefully.

Here I want to share with you 6 key ideas to consider when choosing your

domain name.

1. Make It A DOT COM…Although there are many

domain name extensions

to choose from, including .com, .net and .biz.

When you think of the .Com extension, first….

you know that it is a web site and second…

the .com extension…is the first that comes

to people’s mind. Let me explain what I mean…

when you think of a web address..you think

of makingmoney.com not makingmoney.net

….makingmoney.biz….I hope you can see

the importance in this.

2. Make it Relevant – Including one or even two of your most important

keywords is really the next rule of thumb. Let’s say that your site is about

dog training. Which keywords work best? Would it be Dog, Puppy, Pooch?

Or could you use Train, Training or Trainer? One way for us to decide is to

search for the ones that are used most often. To find that out you can visit

http://WordTracker.com Which has a free trial offer…or you can use Google’s

Keyword Research Tool at https://adwords.google.com and sign up for a

Free account. Either will get you on the right track to finding the most

important keywords for your specific niche. In the example above you will

find that the keyword “dog” has a much larger search volume than the others.

Knowing this will help you make the decision…for the keywords to use in your

domain name.

3. Make it Memorable – Asking yourself this simple question, will help you

keep focused on the intention of your site…Which of the following names

will you remember a week from now? DogTraining.com, DogCollege.com

or DoggyU.com? Shorter names are easier to remember. So play around with

the words, use your creativity and your imagination.

4. Avoid Hyphens - One of the bigger mistakes I made when registering my

domain name, was to hyphenate it. There is another site with my name but….

in doing some research…I have found that it is not a teaching site especially

focused on the tools and techniques that I using to train others. So I feel fine

about my choice. But for those of you just starting out…I would highly

suggest that you do not use hyphens. It is much harder for people to

remember and you take the chance of not being found.

5. Make it Easy to Spell – I have come across many sites such as byebye925.com

while when you first look at this it looks cute and to the point…What I want to

point out to you is….how many other ways can you spell it…bybynine2five.com

byebyeninetofive.com or a number of other ways. For that reason, put some

thought into the spelling and try to make sure that it can not get confused with

another spelling error.

6. Beware of Trademark Infringement – A trademark is a name or symbol

officially registered to a third party, and unless otherwise specified, the

trademark owner is the only party that can legally make use of a

trademarked name. When purchasing a domain name, be forewarned

that buying a domain containing a trademarked name could result in

a legal battle.

VeriSign’s dispute policy, for example, reads: “It is your responsibility

to determine whether your domain name registration infringes or

violates someone else’s rights.”

A court order could have your site shut down quickly. So before

registering a name, do some research to make sure you won’t run

into trouble later.

Trademark research and information can be obtained at the

Trademark Association http://www.inta.org

So have fun out there, get your creative juices flowing!

Get out your dictionary and thesaurus and start to play

with words. Brainstorm a long list of possibilities and come up with something

that is uniquely your own.

To Your Success,
